Dr Peter Briggs

Medical Oncologist

Dr Peter Briggs has broad experience in Medical Oncology and Clinical Haematology, with particular interests in lung cancer, breast cancer and haematoncology.

Dr Briggs is Head of the Medical Oncology department at Southern Health. He has a long clinical career in general clinical oncology in private & public practice. Over recent years he has focused particularly on lung cancer management and clinical research in this field. In addition to his duties at the Monash Cancer Centre, Dr Briggs conducts a private medical oncology practice at Moorabbin Specialist Centre.

Kirsten Cleland | Drugs 101 | Mental Health 101

Headspace

Kirsten is mental health social worker who has worked in the public mental health sector for 23 years. For the past 8 years she has been the Manager of headspace Elsternwick. Headspace was established to provide a model of early intervention to young people and their family and friends and see young people with social and family issues, mental health concerns as well as difficulties with school or work and drug and alcohol misuse/abuse. Shane Jacobson

Partner at PKF

Shane is a Partner working in the Melbourne Business Advisory team with over 18 years of experience in both Professional Service Firms and Industry. Shane works closely with his clients in their strategic direction of the business and assists with the ongoing management acting as a CFO type role for them. His clients consist predominately of SMEs, start-ups and emerging businesses. Shane assists his clients in the growth phase of the business and supports them in their business structure. In addition to this work, Shane provides more value to his clients by facilitating in forecasting and business restructuring. This allows his clients to see potential growth within their business or where needs improvement.

Helen Kapalos

Former Chairperson, Victorian Multicultural Commission

Ms. Helen Kapalos is an accomplished journalist, presenter, executive producer  and filmmaker who has worked for all three commercial television networks and the two public broadcasters in Australia. A proud Greek Australian, Ms. Kapalos is passionate about supporting Victoria’s culturally and linguistically diverse communities and has worked in a number of philanthropic roles prior to joining the VMC, including Director at the Heart Foundation, Director of Federation Square, Ambassador for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation, and Ambassador with Community Languages Australia.

Julian Riekert

Partner at Lander & Rogers Lawyers

Julian has practised exclusively in the areas of Workplace Relations Law for the past 25 years. He also practises as a mediator and represents and advises clients who are parties to mediations and conciliations, mainly in employment and discrimination cases.

Julian has been involved in a number of landmark cases which have established new legal principles, particularly in the area of workplace relations and discrimination law.

Dr Tony Mordini

Assistant Principal Mt Ridley P-12 College and Creator of “Thinking Ethically”

Dr Tony Mordini is a teacher and assistant school principal. He has a strong interest in the impact of self-harm and trauma on child development and therapeutically supported education. His background is in applied ethics and he has held leadership roles in the health and community sector.
